Last Updated on 09/08/10 November 6-7, 2010 This course will address emerging applications for point-of-care ultrasound with a focus on critical care, anesthesia, and emergency medicine. Emphasis will be placed on procedures (vascular access and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia), thoracic ultrasound (for pleural evaluation of interstitial pathology, pneumothorax, pleural effusions, and thoracentesis), and the integration of point-of-care echocardiography into symptom-based evaluation of the patient (hypotension and dyspnea).
