CRNI®s choosing to recertify by continuing education must complete 40 CRNI® Recertification Units (RUs) during the current three-year certification cycle. Additional RUs earned will not roll over to subsequent cycles.

At least 30 RUs must be obtained by attending any of INS’ regularly scheduled national meetings or virtual education conferences shaded below. In addition to 30 RUs from national INS meetings, up to 10 RUs can be submitted from a combination of any of the following unshaded options below to complete the 40 units required to recertify. Tracking Your RUs:

Ideally, you will record your RUs in your online account immediately after each activity during your 3-year certification cycle. This simplifies the recertification process and offers a secure, central location to track the completion of your certification requirements. RUs earned at INS national meetings will automatically be recorded in your profile.

To track your RUs:

  1. Collect the certificate of completion from an approved RU offering (listed above)
  2. Log in to your INS Account
  3. Enter and submit RU activities as Transcript
(From your My Account page, in the left hand column, under Education, select Transcripts, and add a new transcript for each RU option)
  4. Add a scanned copy of your Certificate of Completion for each RU activity under Transcript Score Report or Certificate. Save and logout
