Current, active, unrestricted RN license.
Minimum of 1,600 hours of infusion therapy experience as an RN within the past two years (education, admin, research, or clinical practice all count — bedside not required).

To apply for the CRNI® exam, applicants must meet the following criteria at the time of application.
1,600 hours over two years equates to 15 hours per week — roughly 42% of a 36-hour week — dedicated to infusion therapy. This provides an acceptable level of knowledge to adequately prepare for the CRNI® exam. Each eligibility requirement is designed to ensure certified individuals have the knowledge (verified through the exam) and skill (verified through the experience requirement) needed to practice.
To apply for the CRNI® exam, applicants must meet the following criteria at the time of application.
Ensures sufficient exposure to infusion technologies and required skill set. May be earned across one or several of the three core areas; direct bedside experience is not required. Educators, researchers, administrators, and managers are eligible.
