  • Develops and submits questions as requested, to ensure an adequate number of items for item pool.
  • Corresponds with Chair as necessary to review various materials.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for changes in study aids.
  • Works in conjunction with other Council members to ensure and maintain the credibility of the CRNI® exam.
  • Participates in INS sponsored activities (i.e. Annual Meeting booth, Item Writers Workshop) as requested.

    • Collaborates with INCC staff liaison to establish goals and objectives for action, including plans and time frames.
    • Recommends individuals for appointment to the Council.
    • Approves agenda for all RN Examination Council meetings.
    • Reviews and provides recommendations for revisions to marketing materials and study aids.
    • Participates in an online exam draft review, key verification, and final review of each exam.
    • Approves verification of CRNI® recertification units for INS sponsored meetings and non-INS meetings.
    • Participates in INS sponsored activities (ie., Annual Meeting booth, Item Writers Workshop) as requested.

  3. Council selection is based on, but not limited to, diverse geographical location, practice environment, educational program expertise, and clinical and educational credentials.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Attendance at all scheduled NCOE meetings (virtual or in-person) and conference calls. 
  2. Plan, implement and evaluate educational sessions by:
    *Contributing to the development of educational topics, learning objectives and content outline for presentations in a timely manner according to established deadlines.
    *Participating in the identification of speakers and collaborating with speakers for educational activities.
    *Speaker development and review of PowerPoint presentations.
    *Participate in the evaluation of presentations based on established continuing education approval criteria and validate content as current, evidence based
  3. Required attendance at INS conference as assigned depending on conference needs.
  4. Maintains regular and prompt communication with speakers, NCOE members, NCOE chair, Director of Clinical Education, Nurse Educator, and INS support staff.

  4. Performs all duties and assignments within the governing policies and organizational structure of INS.
  5. Represents INS as requested by the President or Chief Executive Officer.
  6. Implements the goals and objectives of the organization relevant to this position in an agreed upon time frame. Presents this information to the
    President for approval.
  7. Takes an active role in mentoring and supporting all members of the Board of Directors.
  8. Acts as Board Liaison to the Standards of Practice and Nominations Committees.
  9. Ensures that all reports submitted from assigned committees meet established criteria and deadlines.

  10. Defines specific responsibilities for each Board member during the President’s term.

  12. Conducts, with the INCC Chair, an annual performance evaluation of the Chief Executive Officer.

  22. Writes a President’s column for each issue of the Newsline.
  23. Prepares and presents an annual report to the membership at the INS Annual Conference. This report will be published in the Journal of Infusion Nursing

  • Submits minutes of each meeting to the President and Chief Executive Officer within seven days of adjournment of the meeting.
  • Serves on the Executive Compensation Committee. 
  • Performs all duties and assignments within the governing policies and organizational structure of INS.
  • Participates in the activities of the BOD and communicates directly with the President of the Board and the CEO to assure that the objectives of the board can be achieved effectively, economically, and in a professional manner.

  • Assumes the duties of the President in the President’s absence or upon the President’s request.
  • Attends all meetings conference calls, and other meetings as requested by the President.
  • Performs all duties and assignments within the governing policies and organizational structure of INS.
  • Participates in the activities of the BOD and communicates directly with the President of the Board and the CEO to assure that the objectives of the board can be achieved effectively, economically, and in a professional manner.
  • Participates in strategic planning activities.
  • Offers professional presentations at INS sponsored programs and other healthcare organizational meetings at the request of the President and CEO.
  • Is familiar with and possesses knowledge of the governing policies and organizational structure of INS.
  • Answers correspondence as requested by the President or Chief Executive Officer.
  • Works with the INS staff to develop a theme for the Presidential in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepares and delivers a Presidential Address at the Annual Gavel Ceremony. This Presidential Address will be published in the Journal of Infusion Nursing.
  • Works in conjunction with other members of the Board to assist the President in attaining stated organizational goals.
