Recertification By Exam
To recertify by exam, a CRNI® must pass the CRNI® Exam during the final year of certification (year three). CRNI® who recertify by exam must take the most current version of the exam based on the most recent job analysis. This requires that CRNI®s keep up to date with changes in the field in order to pass the exam.
Applications will become available in the last year of the CRNI®’s certification cycle under their CRNI® Certification profile online.
- If the CRNI® credential expires on April 1, the CRNI® must pass the March CRNI® Exam.
- If the CRNI® credential expires on October 1, the CRNI® must pass the September CRNI® Exam.
- If the CRNI® credential expires on January 1, the CRNI® must pass the September CRNI® Exam.
INCC encourages CRNI®s to consider their experience and make a plan for exam preparation prior to choosing a path for recertification. If a CRNI® elects to recertify through exam, the option to recertify by continuing education is forfeited.

- Regular/Late Non-Member Rate $375
